Flugelhorn - Bb - Red Brass / Gold lacquer

Within our test room we test and evaluate many musical instruments in order to improve our own instruments and understand how the most prestigious brands attain their sounds. During a test, we tested a flugelhorn that had the bell made of red brass and we liked the tonal response a lot. With this tube in mind we made our "Apache-XS" design with the third tube and bell made from red brass and the result is very pleasing. What makes red brass sound so smooth and dark is its high copper content (85%). The tone of the Apache-XS is centered and smooth, the emission (due to a breakthrough in terms of air flow) is extremely easy maintaining good volume in all register. The monel pistons also give the Apache-XS a fantastic responseand feel because of their smooth action. With the Apache-XS we have an instrument worthy of study at all levels and an instrument that professionals can use if they need a flugel for a few numbers!
